1960's Embroidered Taffeta Pea Coat

No labels found, very nicely made. Late 1960's to early 1970's. Matte black taffeta with dark turquoise embroidery, what a pretty design! The coat is a slightly fitted pea coat with double breasted button placket, buttons are matching black and turquoise blue. The coat has a self faux belt across back waist, and is lined in black taffeta. There are pockets at hip level, too. The coat is in absolutely excellent condition with very little wear, if any, showing. Size medium. Measures 15 1/2" shoulder to shoulder seam, 22" sleeve, 38" bust, 34" waist, up to 41" hips, 15 1/2" shoulder to waist, 20" waist to hem. For a larger view click here. For a side view click here. 1970's English Leather Jacket

"Stephen Dattner London Madrid" and "This product was manufactured from English Domestic Nappa, tanned and finished in England" label. Black leather, fitted, with decorative seaming across front bodice. Fastens with original black plastic buttons that are carved to look like wood. Lined in black rayon acetate. Hidden inset pockets at hip level. A really beautifully constructed coat, very nice leather. It is a men's coat but looks great on female figure. The leather is nicely broken in and has a nice patina. In very good condition has a bit of fading along some of the edges of the leather. One scratch on one sleeve end. No stains, no holes, no open seams. This was made to last. Size small. 1970's Luis Feraud Skirt Suit with Piping

"Luis Feraud Paris, made in West Germany" label. Looks a bit like a stewardess uniform, doesn't it? But it is not. Also has Luis Feraud imprinted on jacket lining, and on buttons of jacket. This navy blue suit with beige piping looks and feels like wool with silk lining, but is actually viscose with polyester lining. But, nice quality. The suit has a slim silhouette, and feminine details that I love. The jacket has a bit of pleating at top of shoulders, for a bit of puff which is very feminine and very much in style. The jacket is slightly fitted, and has a Nehru style collar. Beige piping along all borders. Skirt is long and slim, with beige piping too. Skirt fastens with side nylon zip and Feraud imprinted button. The set is in excellent condition and size small. Jacket measures 15" shoulder to shoulder seam, 23" sleeves, 34" bust, 30" waist, 36" hem and is 20" shoulder to hem. Skirt measures 26" waist, 38" hips, and 29" in length. 1960's Lilli Ann Pagoda Sleeve Coat with Tassels  

"Lilli Ann Paris San Francisco" label. Early to mid 1960's. Done in black wool and silk blend, an excellent fabric for coats because it is soft yet holds a nice shape. The shape of the coat is a bit of A-line, widening a bit at the hem and narrow at the shoulder/bodice. A collarless coat with short Pagoda style sleeves that widen at the hem, and are glove length, to show of satin or leather elbow length gloves - a very chic look. There are contoured princess seams at either side of bodice, gussets at underarms. Large pockets with decorative flaps. The coat fastens front with a hidden snap placket. The large snaps are covered in cloth, a couture detail. There are two original silk cord tassels for decoration. The coat is lined in black taffeta. In absolutely excellent clean condition, and shows no wear. Although sturdy, this is not a heavy coat and is easy to wear. Size medium. 1950's Tina Leser Ethnic Embroidered Skirt

"Tina Leser Originals" label. Black cotton canvas or burlap fabric with red border at hem. Skirt is covered in embroidery of elephants, horses and other shapes and designs. I am not quite sure if this is an African influence, or more of an East Indian influence. The skirt is smooth in front and has wide pleats in back. There are multi-color fringes at sides of zipper placket. The skirt is lined in black organza, and fastens with back metal zipper. A unique design from a great American sportswear designer. In good wearable condition, free of holes, one brown stain size of nickel on back of skirt, could use a cleaning. Size small-xtra small. Skirt measures 23" waist - the band fastens with hooks and eyes. The hooks could be moved to enlarge the waist maybe an inch or so. Measures 37" hips and 25" in length. For a larger view click here.
