Rare Maxwell Shieff New Look Organza Dress

"Maxwell Shieff Beverly Hills" label. 1948-1950. A rare find from this era. Jet black organza that has a slight tulle feel to it and is a bit stiffer than organza, could be marquisette. The bodice is fitted, with scoop neckline. The bodice is fully done in pin-tucked pleating. The skirt has layers and layers of organza and is very very full. The dress is lined in silk taffeta, and fastens with back metal zipper. Even comes with original belt! This incredible creation would be in mint condition except for the taffeta lining has turned to a dark eggplant color, but does not change outward look of dress. Incredible! Size small. 1950's-60's Printed Organdy Occasion Dress

No labels found, has union made tag. A beautiful occasion dress in printed organdy, in fuchsia pink and white. Styled with rounded neckline, fitted bodice, and has lovely pleated treatment below bust/above waist.. The skirt is very full and pleated. Waist is decorated with rhinestone sew-on, for a bit of "sparkle". The dress is lined in faille, and fastens with back metal zipper, there is a self bow at back center waist that fastens over the zipper with a snap. Excellent to mint condition, looks un worn. 1960's New/Old with Tags Anne Fogarty Dress

"Anne Fogarty Boutique, 100% silk chiffon and 100% linen" hang tag and "Anne Fogarty" label. A really pretty resort style dress of linen and silk chiffon. The floral printed silk chiffon is over a fitted mustard colored linen sheath dress. The chiffon skirt is full and shirred around the waist, the bodice is fitted and sleeveless. The waist is finished with linen piping that ties in back in a bow. The dress zips up back with nylon zipper. Very nicely made, Mint condition with tags. Size medium-large. 1950's Adele Simpson Silk Crepe Sheath Dress

"Adele Simpson" label. This dress is made of fine luscious heavy silk crepe, sometimes called gabardine. Very expensive fabric, very fine.  This dress is so finely constructed it looks and feels couture. The print is of sketched flowers and little boxes in olive and mint green and cornflower blue against a white background. The dress is styled as a fitted sheath with attached tie belt. The shoulders have been cut wide, forming a bit of a cap. This dressmaker detail makes the small waist look even smaller! There is shirring at either side of skirt at waist giving just a bit of fullness. The dress buttons from waist up with matching novelty buttons, and has a hidden 8" metal zipper placket on front of skirt. The inner waist is finished with matching tape ribbon, and the dress is fully lined in cream silk. The dress has been well cared for over the years, the fabric is fresh and clean. Excellent condition. Size small. Measures 15" shoulder to shoulder edge, 34-36" bust, 26" waist, 36" hips, 15 1/2" shoulder to waist, 27" waist to hem. For a larger view click here.
