1950's Decoratively Pleated and Draped Dress with Sarong Style Skirt

Probably the most popular and sought-after style in a 50's dress, the hourglass shape with the pleating across the bust, and the faux sarong skirt with swag. Very Ceil Chapman. This is a home sewn dress of a textured rayon crepe in peacock blue. The shoulder straps are pleated, sweetheart neckline, pleating across bust, pleating at left swag. Dress is partially lined in rayon (bodice only), and fastens with back metal zipper. In good condition. Fade streaks across right side of dress, starting at underarm. Dress seems to have been hand washed, and needs to be pressed. No other problems noted. Size small-medium. Measures 34" bust, 27" waist, 37" hips, 15 1/2" shoulder to waist, 28" waist to hem. 1960 Satin-Trimmed Silk Chiffon Dress and Jacket Set

No labels, professionally made. Forrest green silk chiffon cocktail sheath with matching jacket. Both sheath and jacket have green satin trim. The dress is fully lined in black silk and fastens with back metal zipper. The jacket fastens at neck with hook and snap. The set is in very good condition, one of the spaghetti straps on the dress shows a little stress and there is a small hole above the right bust on the jacket. Size small-medium. 1940's Wool Wrap Coat with Leopard Detail

No labels remaining. Classic wartime 40's wrap coat, with padded shoulders and princess seaming. Done in black wool crepe, lined in black rayon. Coat is wrap style, with attached tie belt of same fabric. The shoulder seams have decorative pleating, a classic 40's touch. The collar of the coat has a single faux leopard button at each side for decoration. The sleeves flare out slightly at the hem. The coat has princess seaming from shoulder to hem, back to sides of front of coat. In very good condition, there is seam repair to lining seams, and underneath the buttons the wool is mended from the previous decorations being removed. The coat has a little more than moderate wear, but still looks nice. Size small-medium. Measures 16" shoulder to shoulder seam, 22" sleeves (measuring from top of sleeve down), up to 36" bust, up to 28" waist, up to 38" hips, 16" shoulder to waist, 26" waist to hem. 1960's Embroidered Wool Cardigan

Label is missing. A wool cardigan sweater in butter cream. Lots of yarn embroidery in a pattern of little multi-color blossoms or berries, in two shades of green, pink, yellow, and periwinkle blue. There is a coordinating embroidery design above the hem, and a matching design on each end of sleeves. The cardigan fastens with front mother-of-pearl buttons, and is un-lined. In very good condition. There are two faint spots on the cardigan, which did not come all the way out with cleaning/treating: one dime sized faint spot next to one of the leaves on the end of the sleeve, and another above the 4th button, this one is really faint, and a dark nickel sized stain on inside of button placket, on the grosgrain facing. 1950's Belted Boucle' Tweed Career Girl Dress

No labels. Professionally made. A wool blend boucle weave fabric in black and white. The dress is fitted and hourglass style, with attached self belt. The bodice has a front flap that starts at neck, goes down side of bodice and extends over waist. The attached self belt is tucked under this panel. The panel is outlined in black wool ribbon. The dress fastens with back metal zipper, and skirt has back kick pleat. Dress is partially lined, and in very good condition. There is a very faint mark on the panel on the waist that is slightly light blue-ish in color. Size small.
