1940's Rayon Print Dress

"An Original Franklin Simon" label. A rayon dress with an abstract print in black, rust, yellow, light brown and white. The print resembles squiggle marks, paint splatters, and o's. The dress interesting details: It fastens by way of an asymetrical button placket that starts at neck and crosses over the left bust to side of dress, and fastens down the left side to back waist- sort of like a wrap dress only it buttons and snaps. Fitted at the waist, skirt has a side flap like a modified peplum, and also has back kick pleat. Sleeves are 3/4 length and cuffed. In fair to good condition, the inside of the collar at back neck has darkened front perspiration, the fabric has stiffened and there is a small hole in it. The front of the bodice has a light brown stain, below bust and the underarms are slightly darkened compared to rest of dress. The dress really needs to be cleaned. Size small. 1960's Dress with Decorative Pleating and Faux Sarong Skirt

No labels found. A rayon satin with bright pastels floral print. Dress has cap sleeves, fitted waist and slightly full skirt. Dress has decorative pleating above waist extending up and over one side of bust, and then more decorative pleating at side waist, with a self bow. The dress is lined in cream rayon faille and fastens with a back metal zipper. In good condition, I found no stains but a slight yellowing of the lining and the decorative pleating is creased and wrinkled, particularly on the skirt. Size medium petite. Measures 15 1/2" shoulder to shoulder edge, 36" bust, 28" waist, 38" hips, 15 1/4" shoulder to waist, 25" waist to hem. For a larger view click here. For a back view click here.

1960's Border Print Baby-Doll Dress

"Lori Till" and "hand washable only" labels. Feels like a synthetic or a cotton and synthetic blend. Dress is done in turquoise with white and cornflower blue floral and abstract print. Contrasting larger border print at neckline, sleeve ends, waist, and hem. Dress is fitted through bodice with slightly high baby-doll waistline, shirring at bottom of inset waist band, and slightly full skirt. Sleeves fasten at ends with self fabric covered buttons. Dress is fully lined in a soft white cotton blend fabric. Back nylon zip. Looks like new, clean and no to very little wear. Size small. Measures 15 1/4" shoulder to shoulder seam, 23 1/2" sleeves, 34" bust, 26" waist, 15" shoulder to center of waist band, 22" waist to hem. For a larger view click here. For a side view click here. 1950's Joseph Magnin Printed Satin Dress

"Made Expressly for Joseph Magnin, by Blauner" label.  A rayon or rayon silk blend satin fabric with mums print on black background. The print looks like a brushed velvet, nice. The bodice is styled with a bandeau neckline, elbow length sleeves, and fitted waist. The skirt is box pleated. The dress is partially lined, and fastens with back metal zipper. In good clean condition. The fabric has frayed/worn out at one underarm. Needs to be reinforced. Size medium.
