1950's Sculptural Silk Cocktail Dress with Swag

No labels present, but does have paper order tag. This dress has that Chapman appeal, the off-the-shoulder pleated sleeves, the hourglass shape. Front bodice is reinforced with stays. Sarong style skirt with sculptural pleated side swag, with decorative pleating across the tummy. Made of black silk faille with a satin finish. Lined in silk, back metal zipper. Very good condition, hem been shortened from original length (no hem allowance left). Quite the stunner! Size small. Measures 36" bust, 27" waist, 37" hips, 16" shoulder to waist, 25" waist to hem. 1949 New Look Silk Taffeta Evening Dress with Peplum

No labels, professionally made. Ink black silk taffeta ballerina style dress. Styled with princess seamed curvy fitted bodice with cap sleeves and plunging neckline. Graceful peplum is weighted in front, and curves up in back at waist where it is gathered, pleated, and finished with a self bow. The back of the bodice fastens up with a long row of self covered buttons into frog loops. The bodice is lined in black silk organza. This evening dress has a very "Dior" look to it. Size small. "Miss Billy Brooks, New York" label. I've always liked Miss Brooks designs. This is a gorgeous cotton sheath dress in black and cream floral print. Decorative and clever pleating under bust creates a "shelf". Waist finished with black velvet band. Fitted, with long slim skirt. Lined in soft black cotton. Back metal zipper. Excellent condition except for a pea sized spot on lower skirt. Size small-medium. Measures 36" bust, 27" waist, 37" hips, 16" shoulder to bottom of waist band, 27" waist to hem. 1950's (Attributed to) Ceil Chapman Silk Pleated Dress - Mint!

"I Magnin & Co" label. Obviously a Chapman design - but no Chapman label. Crisp silk fabric with absolutely brilliant plume and floral design in berry, turquoise, aqua, goldenrod, green, pink, lavender, black and white colors. Designed with a scoop neckline with off-the-shoulder pleated sleeves. Signature pleating across the bust. Fitted bodice and waist, skirt flares out a bit at hem, and is decoratively pleated at center back for a bit of a mermaid tail look. There is an attached thin cord- like tie belt. Fully lined in faille. Bodice is boned front, sides and back. Back metal zipper. In excellent to mint condition. Shows no wear, hem has been shortened professionally. Size small/petite. 1950's Scarf Print Faux-Linen Belted Sheath Dress

"Lynbrook" label. A rayon linen fabric in cream, with gorgeous scarf print of roses against blocks of black. The roses are done in two shades of pink and cream, with olive green and moss colored leaves. The design is on front and back. Styled as a loose-fitting sheath, with self tie belt. Back metal zipper, unlined and semi-sheer so will need a slip. Looks hardly worn, does have two rust specks and extremely faint pea sized spot on front of dress, slightly noticeable.
